Videomessaggio di Carlo d’Inghilterra per i cristiani perseguitati nel mondo [ENGLISH-ITALIANO-ESPAÑOL]

Il Principe Carlo d’Inghilterra ha realizzato, in occasione della Notte di Natale, un video messaggio con Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre per i cristiani perseguitati nel mondo: “È necessario permettere ai fedeli di continuare a vivere nei luoghi della Bibbia”

In tutto il mondo si sta celebrando la solennità del Natale, nonostante in molte parti del globo i cristiani continuino ad essere perseguitati e discriminati. Ed è a loro che è rivolto un messaggio video che il Principe Carlo d’Inghilterra ha realizzato insieme alla Fondazione Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre. “È di vitale importanza – afferma – ricordare tutti coloro che subiscono persecuzioni in ragione della loro fede cristiana”.

I cristiani uccisi in Sri Lanka e Siria
Nel video Carlo d’Inghilterra racconta due suoi recenti incontri con un sacerdote e una religiosa. Il primo, spiega “ha prestato soccorso a quanti in Sri Lanka sono stati terribilmente feriti durante i barbari attacchi avvenuti quest’anno nelle chiese nel giorno di Pasqua”. Lo scorso 21 aprile, infatti, furono quasi 260 i morti e oltre 500 i feriti. “Purtroppo non un caso isolato”, come sottolinea il Principe Carlo, che cita poi il racconto che la religiosa gli ha fatto “della situazione in Siria dove con immenso coraggio e in condizioni impossibili, offre un supporto cruciale ai cristiani e a tutti coloro i quali fuggono dalle violenze e dalla morte. La religiosa siriana che ho incontrato – racconta – mi ha donato una raffigurazione della testa del Cristo crocifisso, fatta con il legno carbonizzato preso da una chiesa bombardata ad Aleppo”.

L’appello per le terre della Bibbia
Carlo cita inoltre il recente rapporto, dello scorso ottobre, proprio di Acs, che “ha rivelato che nell’arco di un decennio fino a due terzi dei cristiani sono fuggiti dalla Siria”, mentre “in Iraq le comunità cristiane si sono ridotte fino al 90% in una generazione”. L’appello del Principe d’Inghilterra è quindi di rafforzare “la nostra determinazione ad evitare che il Cristianesimo scompaia dalle terre della Bibbia”.

HRH The Prince of Wales has recorded a Christmas video message for Aid to the Church in Need specifically aimed at persecuted Christians, assuring them of his thoughts and prayers over the festive season

“As Christians all around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it is of vital importance that we remember all those who suffer persecution for their Christian faith.
I recently had the great privilege of meeting a priest who had ministered to those in Sri Lanka who were so dreadfully injured in the barbaric attacks this year, on churches on Easter Day. With nearly 260 killed and more than 500 injured in that appalling atrocity, Sunday, 21st April was the single, worst day of violence targetting Christians in the modern era. But tragically, it was not an isolated example.
I also met a religious Sister recently, who told me, most movingly, about the situation in Syria where, with immense courage and in impossible conditions, she provides crucial support to Christians and others escaping violence and death. A report in October by the charity Aid to the Church in Need found that within a decade up to two-thirds of Christians have fled Syria. In Iraq, Christian communities have shrunk by up to ninety percent within a generation. As we recall how the Christ Child fled with his parents to Egypt, let us remember the countless many who endure terrible persecution or are forced to flee their homes. And let us strengthen our resolve to prevent Christianity disappearing from the lands of the Bible.
The Syrian Sister I met gave me a gift: it was a depiction of the head of the Crucified Christ, made out of charred wood taken from a bomb-blasted church in Aleppo. As we mark this holiest of seasons in the Christian calendar, may I assure those of you who carry the cross of suffering today, that you are in my most special thoughts and heartfelt prayers. And to Christians everywhere, may I wish you a peaceful, safe and holy Christmas” (HRH Charles, Prince of Wales).

“Mientras los cristianos de todo el mundo se preparan para celebrar el nacimiento de Jesucristo, es de vital importancia que recordemos a todos aquellos que sufren persecución por su fe cristiana.
Recientemente, tuve el gran privilegio de conocer a un sacerdote que había atendido a los esrilanqueses gravemente heridos por los bárbaros ataques de este año contra iglesias en el día de Pascua de Resurrección. Con casi 260 muertos y más de 500 heridos a raíz de esta terrible atrocidad, el domingo, 21 de abril, se convirtió en el peor día individual de la violencia dirigida contra cristianos en la era moderna. No obstante, trágicamente, no fue un ejemplo aislado.
También conocí a una religiosa que me habló, muy emotivamente, de la situación en Siria, donde, con inmenso valor y en condiciones imposibles, provee un apoyo crucial a cristianos y otras personas que huyen de la violencia y la muerte. Según un informe publicado en octubre por la fundación pontificia Ayuda a la Iglesia Necesitada, hasta dos tercios de los cristianos han huido de Siria en una década. En Iraq, las comunidades cristianas han disminuido en hasta un noventa por ciento en el transcurso de una generación. Al igual que recordamos cómo el Niño Jesús huyó con sus padres a Egipto, recordemos también a las innumerables personas que soportan una terrible persecución o se ven obligadas a huir de sus hogares. Y reafirmémonos en nuestra determinación de prevenir que el Cristianismo desaparezca de la tierra de la Biblia.
La religiosa siria que conocí me entregó un regalo: una talla de la cabeza del Cristo Crucificado, realizada con madera extraída de una iglesia de Alepo destruida por las bombas. Con ocasión de esta fiesta santísima del calendario cristiano, permitidme aseguraros a los que lleváis hoy la cruz del sufrimiento que os tengo presentes en mis pensamientos y oraciones.
